The road to Refuah
Originally founded as a medical-equipment lending service, Project Refuah’s healthcare experience eventually led to the outgrowth of comprehensive services for children with special needs.

1989
Project Refuah is established as an amutah with a medical-equipment lending center in Bnei Brak
1993
Additional equipment lending centers are opened in the cities of Jerusalem, Ashdod and Beit Shemesh
2001
Recognizing families need for guidance with medical experts, paid consultants are onboarded to offer referrals
2002
First Respite Clubs are established under Project Refuah with open applications for children with special needs
2006
Expanding into year-round services, Camp Werdiger is established with retreats for special children several times a year
2011
Project Refuah’s official Respite Home in Bnei Brak is inaugurated, to strong community applause
2012
Welfare Ministry of Israel approves Project Refuah and proudly partners with its programs
2015
1,260 sleepovers reached in Respite Home in Bnei Brak, equating nearly 4 sleepovers each night of the year
2016
Project Refuah’s second Respite Home is unveiled in Jerusalem, bringing total available beds to 40
2018
Gorgeous new Respite Home is slated for inauguration in Ashdod by end of the 2018 calendar year
